About Me
A native of Fresno, California, Leif Shires grew up in and around a very eclectic mixture of music. His loves have ranged from Jazz, Latin, Funk, Pop, Gospel, Rock and even Classic R&B with the legendary Memphis Horns. Currently touring with Kelly Clarkson, Jaci Velsasquez and a member of Christian Latin Jam band Salvador, Leif has discovered that his passion as a musician has blossomed into artistry.
Shires is now signed with Green Hill Music in Nashville Tennessee along with his Jazz vocalist wife Jaimee Paul. Both artists work together for a beautiful blend of talents. Mostly emphasizing on standard and cool Jazz, they have both released albums under the direction of Jack Jezzero who has produced countless albums, and who also graces both albums with his extraordinary guiter playing. Leading into his current partnership with Green Hill Music, Leif caught the eye of the "Godfather of Southern Gospel"...Bill Gaither. Bill, (in concert with Greg Howard-VP of Green Hill) seeing Leif''s potential, encouraged the label to release a project.
Now on his third record (second with Green Hill), Shires is continuously excited about his career. His debut label recording, "What A Wonderful World" fared well, paving the way to his first Christmas album "Cool Jazz Christmas" to be released in July 2010.
Determined not to take for granted the many opportunites that Mr. Shires has been blessed with, he continues to perfect his craft. Living in Nashville has proven to be an exceptional experience, and has kept him surrounded by many great musicians.
